I am, because WE are

Ubuntu(oo-boon-too), “I am, because we are”.

We cannot exist in isolation.

We cannot be without each other.

We cannot truly be human without other humans.

I AM, because WE ARE.

We are a person through other persons.

We affirm our humanity when we acknowledge the humanity of others.

We are all connected by our humanity.

There is a common bond between each and every one of us. Through this bond, through our interactions with our fellow human beings, we discover our true identity, our true self.

I AM, because WE ARE.

A person with Ubuntu is welcoming to all, every human being they encounter. They are open and available to others, they are generous and willing to share, they are able to be vulnerable to allow others to flourish.

Living through Ubuntu means you do not feel threatened when others succeed. You cheer them on, you support them, you are proud of their accomplishments. You don’t get discouraged, jealous or envious by others achievements because you have self-assurance that comes from knowing you belong to a greater whole.

Connected, yet we are all different. We each are equipped with individu

al strengths. It is natural for us to want to used them for our own self-progression, but what if we use our talents for something bigger? If we use our talents to better our community, we reap both personal and societal benefits.

I AM, because WE ARE.

We all have struggles and personal hardships we are going through, but we must stick together! Life is not easy, it can get really tough, so lets work as a team to get through it.

Despite all diminishing and dehumanizing efforts we are faced with, Ubuntu provides us with resilience. With the help of other humans, we are enabled to not only survive, but emerge as STRONG human beings.

I AM, because WE ARE.

What if all humanity was on your team, working toward your good? It would be incredibly inspiring and guarantee success in all you do. I don’t know about you, but I would love to be apart of such a strong and supportive team.
